By high school Bruce Albacore had lived in Montreal, Vancouver, Portland, and eventually South Africa at the height of apartheid. After getting kicked out of high school, he returned to Vancouver and wandered BC for years, working in sawmills, on the railway, and in a logging camp up on the north coast.

Then the beginnings of the legendary Vancouver punk scene beckoned, and he found his way back to the city, forming the Secret V’s with Richard Fuller and later Naomi Moriyama on guitar, Ray Condo then Bruce McKay on bass and Kenny Jones on drums. The band played a million gigs at the Smilin’ Buddha and many other venues. 

Post Secret V's, Bruce found himself making good money as a longshoreman, and learned to drive, got his first car, and fixed his teeth. He went back to school and in a few years entered the PhD program at Harvard. He graduated and spent years doing research and publishing in scientific journals, eventually taking the position of curator of fossils at the University of British Columbia. 

Bruce never stopped writing songs, and over the years built up a massive storehouse of them in his head, which Bruce McKay kept pushing him to record. The Last Kiss is the result, the first installment.
